Olympus OM-D E-M5
My current gear the Olympus OM-D E-M5 with the 12-40mm f2.8 Pro lens. This is my first serious move towards micro 4/3. I have been following the advancement of the micro 4/3 format since 2010 and I believe that with the E-M5, it has finally come of age. If I choose to stay with this format, I will definitely be looking forward to get their great prime lenses as well. Here is a link for my mini review http://wp.me/pOE9F-GD
Canon EOS Kiss X4 (EOS 550D)
I occasionally use a Canon EOS Kiss X4 (Japan version of 550D) (which is loaned from my brother), along with some nice lenses; Sigma 30mm f1.4, Tokina 12-24mm F4 and Tokina 50-135mm f2.8. The controls and functions are a bit fiddly since it’s a mid entry level DSLR. My favourite of the three is the Sigma 30mm f1.4, which is great for low light. I use this a lot for videos at the moment but this camera and lenses will be up for sale soon.
Other equipment which I currently have…
This is the last Nikon related gear I have… The Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro lens (Nikon mount) with Tamron 1.4x SP AF Pro Teleconverter. A wonderful lens which gave me great close up and macro shot of flowers and insects. Although I don’t have a Nikon body anymore, I am still clinging on to this one. Well maybe it will be useful again when I go to Nikon Full Frame FX. Or perhaps I will just slap on a lens converter on and use it with my Olympus OM-D EM-5!
A recent addition in 2013 was the Fotopro X4i-E Mini Tripod. This is my regular tripod for my mirrorless camera system or when I have to travel light. This tripod can be folded down to just over one foot and comes with a nice bag. It’s quite a sturdy tripod, so as long you don’t raise the middle section if you’re using a heavy camera + lens combo. I really like this one coz it’s lightweight and therefore I often carry it along with me.
This is the Giotto MTL 9351B tripod with Manfrotto 486RC2 ball head. It has been with me since my Nikon D200, when I took it out to shoot many macro pics. A heavy tripod and therefore very sturdy. I haven’t been using this tripod for a long while. Perhaps it will be useful again if I plan to go to full frame DSLR in the future.
